20 PhD students and early career scientists from all eight projects of SPP 2361 met from 2nd until 4th of November 2023 at the ecological research station of Potsdam University in Gülpe in the midst of the Havel floodplain.
Over the course of three days, attendees presented the current state of their projects, their individual PhD theses and discussed overarching topics like old maps, fluvial sediments and dating, stakeholders and agents in the fluvial anthroposphere, fluvial ecology and pollution and input for the upcoming virtual research environment of SPP 2361, Spacialist. Furthermore, the early career SPP members fostered networking and exchange while cooking and dining and while exploring the Havel floodplain by foot together.
We thank all attendees for all their contributions, especially Janis Weil for his tour around the research station and Potsdam University for providing access. We really look forward to the next meeting in 2024 (place and time TBA)!
